Things were going pretty well for us the beginning of the year...at least for the first 5 months. The job was going well and Anthony started feeling better from some of the new meds and treatments he's been on.
Everything was going fine, until out of the blue Jamie got a horrible phone call. Raytheon was deleting her position and the 18th was to be her last day. This news just came out of no where and totally took her aback.
Being a single income family, this scared Jamie horribly. We were going to have to file bankruptcy, go on welfare, move in with her parents...she was so scared the government would take Joshua away from them. All the horrors flashed through her mind the next two weeks.
It was just horrible. We had just spent all of our savings and we were JUST getting by each month. Even though Anthony's VA Disability check came each month, it was nothing to shake a stick at. It barely covered his medical expenses. So, now we were preparing.
Anthony was looking for a job. Jamie was looking for a job. No takers. It wasn't that Jamie was the only one out there looking for a job...but nearly half the people here in Jacksonville on this contract--including sub-contractors--were being let go.
