It was about 8:30pm when Joshua and I were playing in his room. Daddy was out working, so we were home alone. We always play together in his room. Nothing new. But what happened the other night got my heart racing and all kinds of wild thoughts went flying through my mind.
We were in Joshua's room, playing with his balloons and his huge saucer balloon. All of a sudden, Joshua stopped dead in his tracks, pointed to the back of his room, said "man, scared" and came to me for comfort. He stayed in my arms for a while and kept repeating "man, scared" while shaking his head. Then he said "hat". I asked, "what color is the hat?" He said "red". I spent about 5 minutes trying to look out the window to see if there was someone there. It was hard because it was dark outside and the light from inside the house made it hard to see. I was not about to turn off all the lights either! All I kept thinking about was some guy standing outside the window looking in. That, and a possible ghost. What you cannot see is rather very scary.
After about 5 minutes, I decided to take Joshua out to the living room and we sat on the couch watching TV. Anthony's computer was up and he had our "nanny cam" running (2 cameras, 2 views, a network video server and a connection over the LAN). With Joshua's room on the screen, he still kept pointing and saying, "man, room, scared". About 15 minutes later, he said "Bye Bye Man" and Joshua was back to watching TV.
When Anthony got home that night I asked him to look around outside to see if he could find anything. Nothing was found. He also told me that Joshua has done that one other time before with him. Still very freaky if you ask me.
We have joked around before when late at night Joshua's toys would mysteriously start to clang and bang and make noise. We would just say out loud, "Be quiet, Joshua's sleeping". Once, I even thought I might have even seen a little girl in a nightgown in our kitchen. But, since it was in the corner of my eye, late at night, and nothing to substantiate it, I dismissed it. All these "things" I have dismissed in the past and could easily have been explained away. But this time, I'm not so sure.
I wonder if maybe there is a way to find out who has lived here before and what may have transpired on this property. Maybe there is a correlation...
